When I was 14 I took the money I earned from washing cars in my neighborhood to go to an indie record store where I promptly bought this single. And a Watchamacalit. Those candy bars rocked.

It was an obscene price of $12.95. It was only 4 songs but really it was the same song remixed 4 different ways.

The whole AIDS theme was lost on me. I just thought it was a fun dance song.

Now that I hear it again it totally sounds like something that would have been played in the dungeon scenes of Silence of the Lambs. Apparently…that’s the kind of music I’ve always been into.
